About the Handmaiden's Cottage
Meet the Handmaiden's Cottage team!
Hello, I'm Lynn and I love living the creative life! I've been doing all types of needlework since I was a child and fell in love with sewing early on as I watched my mother lovingly stitch up tiny clothing for my Barbie dolls on her (now vintage) Singer sewing machine! Crafting has always been a hobby for me and after a career in finance and raising my twins, I decided to pursue my true passion, go back to my childhood roots and opened my Etsy shop, The Handmaiden’s Cottage in 2008, a boutique offering quality handmade items for family and home. By accepting custom orders of all types, the Shop afforded me the opportunity to hone my sewing skills and learn new techniques. After operating a successful sewing business for five years, I began receiving requests for patterns and decided to take on another new challenge by publishing my first pattern “The Tea Party Dress!"
I'm thrilled to have my daughter, Jaime Naples, join the Handmaiden's Cottage! Not only is Jaime beaming with new ideas and ways to improve the business, she is such a creative spirit, painting and making things since she was a little girl! Formally trained in Graphic Design and running her own family fitness business with husband Chris, Jaime's first task was to move our website to a new host for a more-user friendly format. On a personal note, Jaime and her husband Chris are the parents to my four precious grandchildren!
Brad Breisch, my fiance, has been my life partner for almost twelve years and I would not have been able to transition to publishing sewing patterns without his help and support. When I first began in the pattern business, Brad would digitize my hand drawn pattern pieces and prepare them for printing (I started out publishing paper patterns). After working for an Architectural firm for many years, Brad and co-worker, Tim, decided to open their own Design/Build firm. The business has become quite successful which gave him very little time to work with me! At that time I made the decision to learn how to digitize the patterns myself, but Brad still helps out now and then! We live in rural Ohio with our two Labrador Retrievers, Hannah and Stella!
Deb Zaleski and I have worked on numerous projects together! The owner and creator of Sprouting JubeJube, Deb has been sewing since the age of 5 and has made complete wardrobes for all of her four children! Deb hosts sew-alongs and helps administer the Sew Handmaiden Pattern Group!
